How credits are charged
Credits follow what a request costs to run
A request’s price comes from the AI model’s work on it: how much it reads, such as your words, the tracks in scope and their measurements, and how much it writes back. A short request on one track costs less. A long one, or one across several tracks, costs more. A typical request costs about 3 credits.
When a request starts, the most it could cost is held from your balance. When it finishes, you pay what it actually used and the rest is released. If a request fails, the hold is released and nothing is charged.
These never use credits
- Auditioning a proposal with A/B
- Applying a proposal
- Undoing a change (“undo that” runs on your computer)
- Adjusting a Link by hand
Questions
Good to know
- What uses credits?
- Each request the Hub sends to plan a move. That includes a question back to you, like “which guitar?”, since working out the question is part of the request.
- How do I see my balance?
- Your account page shows your balance and a history of what each request cost. The Hub shows your balance too, and each proposal shows its cost.
- What happens when I run out?
- New requests stop until you top up, and the Hub tells you so. Everything you’ve already applied stays as it is, and undo and A/B keep working.
- Can I use my own API key?
- No. Every request goes through your False Audio account and its credits.
- Who takes the payment?
- Payments go through Stripe. We never see your card number.
